It's the much anticipated weekend of the annual Lotus Festival of Music and the Arts, of which we are a sponsor. We are proud to again be offering food service to festival attendees and in the artists' hospitality center. Today is the free Lotus in the Park, where you'll find our food tent, operated in collaboration with Nick's English Hut. The music on the Bloomingfoods/Tree of Life stage is also sponsored by BEAD, the Bloomington Entertainment and arts District, and by Lisa J. Baker, DDS, of Baker Family Dentistry PC.
It's not too late to purchase a Lotus Festival pin at our stores, giving you free access to tomorrow's World Spirit Concert at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, featuring Irish musicians Karan Casey and John Doyle and Global Rhythms, featuring master percussionist Srinivas Krishnan. One of the remarkable things about the Lotus Festival is that it includes many free activities, which your purchase of the Lotus pin helps support. In the meantime, you are able to see these world class musicians for only $5.
The image here is some of the Lotus Festival sidewalk chalk art, facilitated by Kansas City chalk artist Mark Glover and hosted by Bloomington’s independent art supply store, Pygmalion’s.
