6th Annual Share the Harvest Fundraiser

Young gardener from Mother Hubbard's Cupboard
This November, Bloomingfoods will host the 6th Annual Share the Harvest Donated-Dollars month-long fundraising event for local food pantry Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard (MHC). This campaign encourages people to donate at the register when they shop at any Bloomingfoods location. 100% of the funds raised will support the Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard food pantry, where $1 helps to buy 10 pounds of food.

Last year, this event was so successful that it raised enough money to keep Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard shelves stocked with food for one and a half months! This month, each time you share a little extra with those who need it most, Bloomingfoods will put a colorful leaf up on the wall in your honor.
Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard is Monroe County’s largest food pantry, providing healthy groceries to more than 1,900 clients each week. At MHC, we believe that a healthy diet is the foundation of personal well-being, and we want all people to have access to quality food. We extend our services through Nutrition Education and Community Gardening programs, which aim to empower patrons and build community by passing on important information and life skills. We also offer cooking classes, publicized in  Bloomingnews.

Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard Food Pantry is open five days a week to anyone in need. It operates on the honor system and allows clients to choose the foods they want to take home. The food pantry’s work is possible with the generous time and talent of over 140 volunteers, many of whom are also MHC clients. If you would like to get involved with our programs, just fill out our online volunteer application on our website: www.mhcfoodpantry.org.
