East Store Meat News

Customers at our East and Elm Heights locations may have noticed our selection of fresh "This Old Farm" products has been expanding lately. We started a few weeks ago with their 100% grass-fed ground beef, and now their certified organic, pasture-raised ground pork has hit the shelf. These exciting new developments can only mean one thing; that there is a delicious meatloaf in your future! If you don't have a family recipe of your own, check out this one, from Epicurious. It's a great way to try the grass-fed beef and organic pork all in one shot, and you'll even get to throw some bacon on top!

If that wasn't enough excitement already, the East Side meat department has a number of other new products up its sleeve (well, okay, they were never up our sleeve, but they are in our meat case!). We are now carrying grass-fed halal lamb. We have fresh ground lamb available for $6.49/lb, and frozen lamb soup bones for $2.49/lb. If you are interested in special ordering any other cuts of halal lamb or goat, contact Justin See (This email address is being protected from spambots. Last but not least, we have fresh trout for $12.99/lb from Bell Aquaculture. Located in Redkey, Indiana, Bell Aquaculture raises trout without antibiotics or hormones and in as sustainable a manner as possible. For more information or their farming methods, head over to their website at www.bellaquaculture.com
