We’re celebrating Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 17th, in a big way this year, outside our West 6th Street store on Madison Street, from 5:30 to 8:30pm.
Madison street will be closed for this event, the better to have a party. Live music from DJ Graham Cracker Crust.
Come on down! You’ll find music, games, arts and crafts, bike related booths (with swag) and—for those age 21 and over—beer from Upland Brewing Company. Proceeds will be donated to the Bloomington Bicycle Club to support local Bike Bike Programs and Advocacy.
Bloomington Transit will demonstrate on how to use the bike racks on city buses, and we'll be holding a drawing to give away a bike.
We've also entered all of our Bloomingfoods employees into a drawing for a brand new bike to encourage environmentally friendly commuting, staff health and wellness, and to support our bike enthusiasts and those interested in biking to work.
The photo here is of one of our employees who bikes to work at the Kirkwood Store, up the alley at 419 East Kirkwood Avenue.
This event is sponsored by Bloomingfoods, the Bloomington Bikes Club, Bloomington Transit, Revolution Bike and Bean, and the Bicycle Garage.
