January 2014 Grocery News

Happy New Year to you all!

I’m pleased to announce that we have started a partnership with a new local manufacturer for our Grocery shelves! GAIA is an Indianapolis based company that makes a variety of cleaning products for the home.  Karen Troutt is the owner and she’ll be in the stores sometime very soon to introduce her products.  They’re beautiful, affordable and work great!

Some other new items we’ve brought in…
FreshPet dog and cat foods (at the East store only) can be found in their own little refrigerator near the other pet foods.  From their website www.freshpet.com:
“Long before we began Freshpet, our team met working together in pet food manufacturing. We loved what we did, but wondered if the products we made were really best for pets. Our dogs and cats were eating nothing but shelf-stable food laden with preservatives. Then one day, it dawned on us. They were missing out on fresh, nutritious foods we enjoy, and that makes us feel better too. We were eating fresher, less processed foods, so why shouldn’t our pets?  So we set out on a mission: to revolutionize the way all pets are fed, by making fresh, natural food.”

CALIFIA FARMS Almond Milks: Original and Vanilla 48 oz and Iced Coffees:  Coco Noir and XXEspresso 10.5 (At the Near West store)
“Fresh from the fields of Califia (San Joaquin Valley) comes the purest and tastiest Almondmilk you’ll ever have.  As a grower-owned company we use only varietal almonds from California, picked at the peak of their flavor.  Our simple recipe gives you what you want and leaves out what you don’t – it’s all love at the breakfast table.  Made from non-genetically engineered almonds.”

In response to customer request we have brought in Chia Pod, a non-dairy yogurt type food that is perfect as an energy breakfast, providing 100% of your recommended daily intake of Omega 3.  “Chia Pods® contain one full serving of Australian Grown sun ripened Chia seeds mixed with coconut milk and real fruit. Just three ingredients and no added sugar.”

Finally, we regret to inform our shoppers that the 32 oz Brown Cow LOW FAT yogurts have been discontinued by the manufacturer.
