Plenty of good news from the Meat and Seafood Dept., here at the Near West Side. To begin, a few weeks before the Gulf oil spill, Bloomingfoods made a purchase of several hundred pounds of jumbo pink shrimp from Apalachicola Bay, Florida. We have frozen our supply and will have these amazingly sweet and delicious shrimp as long as our supplies last. When these are gone, gulf shrimp may not be available for a while, so get them while you can and support the gulf shrimp economy. They are available at both our east and west stores.
On a related note, if all goes well with our salmon fisherman, Tony Wood, we should be receiving fresh, wild-caught, Alaskan sockeye salmon beginning in July. Keep an eye on our website, and we'll let you know when they are in
Finally, in case you've missed it, we'd like to highlight our Fiedler Family Farms meat, located in the freezer section. This is exquisite meat from one of the areas finest producers.
