The summer tour will stop at two farms: the Center for Community Empowerment and the Padgett Family Farm. Visitors will have a chance to meet Michael Hicks from the CCE, learning about the Center’s integrated approach to permaculture, sustainable living, massage, nature awareness, personal growth, and the healing arts.
Later, Jeff and Elizabeth Padgett will host a dinner prepared by chefs Rags Raggo of Nick’s English Hut and Jeff Finch from Finch’s Brasserie. Served under an open tent at long tables decorated with flowers from Linda Chapman’s Harvest Moon Flower Farm, the farm tour dinner will to be a chance to linger over conversation, music, and a meal made from local ingredients by generous, excellent chefs.
The cost of this tour, which includes a sit down dinner, is $60. Beer and wine will also be available, so bring a bit of cash (and come prepared to show identification) if interested in libations. For more details about the tour, visit the City of Bloomington Farmers' Market website.
