This is our East Store page.
New at the East Store, true meads from Redstone Meadery, perfect for pairing with your favorite dish or just quaffing on the porch. All the meads from Redstone are natural, semi-dry and best of all, sulfite free! Contrary to what most people think, these meads are not syrupy sweet and thick. They are light to medium bodied beverages with low residual sugar, no preservatives, and are all absolutely delicious. Try the Blackberry instead of a beer after work. The Traditional goes great with a wide variety of cuisines from light appetizers to spicy hearty dishes. Lastly, the Vanilla and Cinnamon mead can be enjoyed before meal aperitif or as a companion for your most hearty entree or even dessert.
Seth Grady, Wine Buyer
Introducing Tabor Hill wines, from our neighbors to the north, Michigan. We now have three new wines at the East Store to tempt your palate: Heritage Red, Chardonel, and Riesling.
The Heritage Red is a soft, dry red with forward fruit and an excellent drinkability.
The Chardonel has been aged for a full year in American oak, producing a great dry wine with flavors of citrus and apricot finishing with butter and toast.
The Riesling is dry, having all the classic qualities of this well-loved grape but without the sweetness commonly associated with this varietal.
All are excellent and easy to pair with your favorite dishes or on their own. Priced to sell at $7.99 to $8.99.
The featured highlight for this month is our “SPECIAL ORDER” program!
We want you to get what you want and that’s why we want you to know! Want to know more?
• Our Special Order program is available to members and non-members alike.
• We give you a 10% discount off the retail price when you order in case quantities.
• No further discount is offered for items already on sale or for orders of single items, but we’ll always try to give you the lowest retail price possible.
Unfortunately we lack the physical space to carry everything that would please everyone. But, whatever you’re looking for, we’ll try to help you get it. With dogged determination our best people are just waiting to hunt down the item you want!
Sometimes - and very often – we can have your order within just a couple of days. But, we do love a good challenge and will exhaust all of our resources before we cave in to defeat.
Here’s how it works:
Step one: You want something (really you wish we would simply carry this item so you don’t have to special order it!)
Step two: You call us or come in to the store and tell us what you want.
Step three: We write every little pertinent thing down to make sure we get it right. We’ll call you if we have any further questions.
Step four: You walk away (or hang up) confident that we will get you what you asked for.
Step five: We receive your order and call you to let you know that it’s here!
Step six: You come in to the Co-op and ask any employee to fetch your order for you.
Step seven: You pay at the register and go home happy.
Susan Kornblum and Jacob Goodman are the Special Order grocery “specialists” and they can’t wait to help you! (Call Mark Jennings for Wellness/Supplements special orders.)
We’re very proud of the coffee selections we offer to you coffee drinkers out there. Have you tried them all? Have you seen the shiny, new bulk coffee display? You don’t know what a good time is until you’ve deconstructed and installed a coffee display at midnight with Pete, Mac, Nicki, Earnie & Meg!
